Five year old girls are some of the most fun categories you can purchase presents for. They are old enough to be interested in almost anything you give them. Here are a couple of suggestions that can get you started. 

1. Arts and Crafts Kits- From the newest trends such as “Aquadots” to the older types such as “SpinArt”, these kits will surely keep them busy and proud of their creations. Stationary, stickers and coloring books are still some common favorites. 

2. Books- This is the age when they are starting to get pretty good at reading. Choose a couple of books that they are interested in. For example, Disney Princesses, fairies,horses, etc. 

3. Dolls- There are many dolls out there. At this age, it would still be appropriate to get them the dolls that interact with them. The ones that talk, cry, even the ones that go potty are always a fun gift for little girls to receive. 

4. Dress Up clothes- Children this age love to play pretend. There are some trunks you can purchase that are pre-filled with dress up clothes, or you can buy a set or two to make your own. 

5. Sports toys/clothes- These presents are for the little girls that are not “too girlie.” Some little girls might like soccer, others like basketball. You can get them toys or even jersey’s of their favorite sport. 

6. Electronic games- You can buy little hand held games like “Tamagochi,” “Leapster,” or if your budget allows even a Nintendo/PSP. If they have any of these games already, the best thing to get them are cartridges for their games. 

7. Build a Bear Gift Certificate- Your little 5 year old will enjoy picking her own bear, dressing it up, and taking it home in that fancy cardboard box home. 

8. Makeover Gift Certificate- There are small shops in some malls called “Libby Lu” that offers diva make overs. They also have a collection of accessories that your five year old may enjoy. 

9. American Girl Doll- These trendy dolls maybe a little pricey, but little girls love these dolls very much. They also come with a story book to give you a background of the doll. At the same time, your child will also be encouraged to read. 

10. Clothes- You can never go wrong with buying clothes. You can get cute gloves, mittens, socks, tights, hats, skirts, sweaters, etc. There’s so much to choose from. It would be great to find out her favorite color or if she has any favorite character. That will almost guarantee her wanting to wear your present as much as possible.
